Two friends say goodbye to St. Thomas and our jobs as sailing instructors to crew on SV Catbird, an 82' catamaran bound for Recife, Brazil. It's our first time being on a boat for more than a day at a time, and the down-island sail should take about three months, with a few stops along the way!

When The Going Gets Tough...
We are now purposely ordering tap water and raw, unwashed vegetables in every port in the hopes of contracting some tropical illness and getting sent home.
Ahh.....what to say? There is so much! Sounds like quite the shitshow....Im loving reading about your adventures. I can just picture that woman...oh my God i wouldve walked out by now for sure! Enjoy the scenery...Im so jealous youre getting to see all these places...although I wish for you it was under different circumstances. Dont forget that you do not work for these people unless they are paying you cash!!!! You have the freedom to do and go where ever you want. You dont need these people...there are other boats and planes and people who pay for being able to treat you poorly and make you clean boats:)....No one under any circumstance whether they are paying you or not has the right to treat you with disrespect...Love to you both
